Backpack Buddies Needed!

Volunteers Needed!

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with our Backpack Buddies program. We need people to pick up and deliver food to the school once a week.

Here’s the scoop for delivery volunteers. Brookview’s plastic storage bins are packed with the snacks and are ready to go at the Waukee Food Pantry (Church on the corner of University and Boone Drive) at 12:30PM on Thursdays during the school year. Volunteers can come anytime between 12:30pm and 2:30pm to pick the storage bins up. They are then dropped off at Brookview and are exchanged for the empty storage bins from the previous week. The volunteer then returns the empty bins back to the food pantry. (Some volunteers pick up the empties before they go to the food pantry if they live close to the school.) Round trip it's well under an hour. We would love to have two volunteers for Brookview, so they can either switch off weeks or do it together each week.
