Get to Know the PTO: Communications Chair

Meet Erin, our Communications Chair (aka webmaster, blogger, meeting minute-taker, marketing and technology guru—the list literally goes on and on). We are so fortunate to have someone with Erin's skills who does everything she does with a smile. She is seriously a gift to our organization and school. Three cheers for Erin!!

More about Erin . . .

I am mom to a 3rd- and 5th-grader.

When my kids started at Brookview, I wish I knew . . . how different Brookview was! We transferred in from a different Waukee school. Brookview is such an amazing place for kids to discover themselves!

One thing I wish people knew about PTO at Brookview is . . . we're fun! Meetings are short, and you can participate in whatever way is best for you.

The best thing about volunteering at Brookview is . . . getting all the sneak peeks into my kids' school.

My first or favorite memory of your own elementary school experience is . . . falling on the playground. But I loved our playground!

I consider my hometown to be . . . Colby, Kansas.

I have an irrational fear of . . . spiders.

My day is better when . . . I get hugs from my kids.

One of my happy places is . . . my bed, or a comfy chair reading.

The job I would be terrible at is . . . Uber driver. I hate driving.

If money weren’t an issue, the hobby I would take up would be . . . traveling and baking.

My favorite dessert is . . . chocolate.

One more thing I want to do as a family before summer break ends is . . . more snow cones!

My family’s First Day of School tradition is . . . Hy-Vee sugar cookies after school!
